L’Association des Professeurs d’Histoire et de Géographie (APHG) publie ci-après une information importante de sa commission pédagogique chargée de l’enseignement de l’Europe. Les instances nationales de l’association apportent leur soutien logistique à la candidature de la Commission nationale "Europe" et de la Régionale APHG d’Aix-Marseille à l’organisation à Marseille, en avril 2018, de la conférence annuelle d’Euroclio, qui regroupe des professeurs d’Histoire issus de 47 pays européens [1]. Les 26 Régionales de l’APHG et leurs adhérent(e)s sont libres dans leur choix de participer ou non à ce projet.

L’APHG s’engage pour l’Europe de l’éducation en Histoire

En tant que membre fondateur [2] de l’association internationale Euroclio, qui prône une éducation à l’histoire européenne, l’APHG a fait un choix d’engagement en se portant candidate pour accueillir la conférence annuelle d’Euroclio en avril 2018.

La commission Europe, déjà impliquée dans un projet en cours ("Silencing Citizens through censorship") [3], sera cette fois-ci partie prenante de cet événement international.

La conférence aura pour thème « La Méditerranée, rôle et place dans l’histoire transnationale ». Cette conférence durera cinq jours, accueillera les membres d’Euroclio originaires de 47 pays différents et fera une large place aux intervenants et spécialistes français des thématiques de la Méditerranée en Europe aujourd’hui. Les régionales de l’APHG seront particulièrement sollicitées pour participer à ce projet.

  • The most ancient city of France ;
  • A gate away into Mediterranean basin, a transit place, doorway to Africa, a cosmopolitan meeting point ;
  • Foreigners have been present in the city since long ago ;
  • City of « euromediterranean dialogue » ;
  • European capital of culture in 2013.

Programm : « The Mediterranean sea, issues and place in transnational history ».

An approach through history as well as through geography. A combination of both disciplines is a french specificity. The Mediterranean Sea, our heritage and our european actuality.

Supplying keys for uderstanding Europe through history around the following topics :

  • Conflictuality around the Mediterranean Sea Arabic spring and Europe circulation of ideas and in the perspective of time
  • The Mediterranean Sea : a world of innovations
  • The urbanity around the Mediterranean Sea
  • Myths and representations around the region…

[1EUROCLIO, the European Association of History Educators, established in 1992, supports the development of responsible and innovative history, citizenship and heritage education by promoting critical thinking, mutual respect, peace, stability and democracy. The Association advocates a sound use of history and heritage education towards the building and deepening of democratic societies, connecting professionals across boundaries of countries, ethnicities and religions. It seeks to enhance the quality of history and citizenship education through capacity building for educators and producing and implementing innovative teaching tools. In 2013, EUROCLIO represents 68 independent and volunteer History heritage and citizenship Educators’ Associations and related Institutes from 45 mostly European countries and reaches out to a network of at least 25.000 history, heritage and citizenship educators.
